This fall, construction will begin on an interior renovation project to upgrade the life-safety systems and renovate select areas within Kline Geology Laboratory (KGL). On August 5, the project team held a town hall meeting to review the scope and schedule of the project as well as the site logistics of the KGL and upcoming Peabody Museum renovation. Key points
  • Project will provide an upgraded fire protection system, emergency power and lighting, fire shaft and doors, and guardrails. Also, select rooms, restrooms, stair and corridor finishes, the lobby, and entrance will be upgraded.
  • Project work will begin in September 2020 and be completed summer 2021.
  • KGL will remain occupied during construction.
  • The building can be entered through the north entrance with pedestrian access from the east (Sachem’s Wood).
