This project updates the museum’s exhibition, collections preparation, and object study areas while also improving circulation in and outside of the building. A 66,000 gross square foot addition provides new programmatic space through a central atrium that reninforces connectivity with the Environmental Science Center.

Upon reopening to the public, Yale Peabody Museum will have 50 percent more exhibition space (including a new Central Gallery), reconfigured exhibition support areas (mount shop, carpentry), enhanced education space (10 classrooms), improved public amenities (museum shop, more elevators and entries), rethought administrative and support space (offices, meeting rooms, catering pantry), and renewed collections areas (including the Great Hall).
