Construction Impact

The preliminary construction phase of the new Yale Science Building (YSB) is currently underway. The overall project encompasses the construction of a new state of the art sciences laboratory at the approximate location of the soon to be demolished J. W. Gibbs Laboratory (JWG), an expansion of the KBT Concourse level, a comprehensive renovation of the KBT Plaza, a lecture hall, and common area at south end of KBT Plaza. What promises to be an exciting finished project in the end, comes with construction activity in the beginning including its associated disruptions. Mitigation of these is of utmost importance. Buildings which are immediately adjacent to the YSB construction site (i.e. Bass, KGL, KBT, and SCL) will be more affected than others, however with a project as large as YSB, all of Science Hill is affected to some extent.
